DeLorean Is Back

The legendary DeLorean is back. Vehicle lovers can already book the new DeLorean through the official website, but if you want to get one, you should hurry. The offer is very limited.
There were 8,583 DeLoreans DMC-12 produced between the years 1981 and 1983. Even though it was slow for a sports car, overpriced and arrived too late, it wasn’t a bad car. People in waiting lists were willing to pay even more than the $25,000 retail price. In late 1982 the DeLorean Motor Company went bankrupt and unsold cars were available for less than the retail price. It took 3 years for the car to become popular again after it was featured in Back to the Future movie by Robert Zemeckis. As of 2016 there is about 6,000 original DeLorean Motor cars believed still to exist.
Starting 2017, the new DeLorean Motor Company aims to produce about 300 new units over the next 6 years. The design of the new DeLorean should be similar to the original one. Several improvements have been announced as a revised and corrected chassis, upgraded interior, and some state-of-the-art options available. The new DeLorean should also benefit from a new engine, because the original Peugeot-Renault-Volvo (PRV) 2.85 liter V6, which developed 130 horse powers, would not pass modern environmental regulations. Several sources indicate that the DeLorean 2.0 could be powered by 350-400 horse powers. This information remains clearly in the field of rumors, and will have to be confirmed in the coming months.
A powerful new DeLorean will also be the most expensive DeLorean ever made. So far the price has not been officially communicated by the manufacturer, but it is believed to be around $100,000 for the basic model. If you are interested in one of these, you better be hurry. Pre-orders for the very limited series are already open on the official website and the first cars should be available to customers at the end of 2017. Until then the only DeLorean avilable is this one.
